The rock band known as UNHERD is comprised of four members, Paul Karr, guitar/vocals; Ben Lester, lead guitar; Derrick Unpingco, drums; and Travis Budd on bass guitar.

UNHERD Originated in the Morongo Basin during the summer of 2004. The band's meeting is an interesting story: Several years ago, Paul and Ben met at a mutual friend's party that seemed to be just another day hanging out with friends, but unknown to them, would start a new path in their lives, creating UNHERD. Ben was sitting down playing a bass guitar and caught Paul's attention at the party. Being a musician himself, Paul decided to make conversation and asked Ben if he would like to form a band. The two would jam together off and on with different drummers and bass players. After two years of hard work, the duo decided to take a break, not having gotten quite what they had in mind for a band. The duo may have taken a break from creating a band but their love of music and appreciation of each other's work never left their lives.

After their hiatus the duo began trying again to form the band that became UNHERD. To find the musicians they were looking for wasn't going to be easy, but was a challenge they were ready for. The first thought was to find a drummer, asking everyone they came across and making connection all over their town, with no luck. The Duo was running though drastic measures, like picking up the phone dialing 555-DRUM hoping that it just might work. After a several weeks of trying Paul was out to lunch one day and asked the manager behind the counter, "do you know any drummers?" The reply was no, and he continued to make his order. Five minutes later the manager approached Paul saying "wait, I'm a drummer, I'm Derrick!" He turned out to be just what they were looking for as part of UNHERD.

To complete the sound of UNHERD they still needed their bass player. The band tried several bass players but none worked out. Finally, they decided to try another bass player whom they had not considered available because he was currently attending University of Las Vegas. His name was Travis Budd. At that point, the group instantly clicked and combined their unique musical styles, creating UNHERD.
